Metapán, El Salvador

Maternal Health & First Aid Certification

While researching the current status of maternal health in El Salvador, IHELP found that many Salvadoran women lack access to reproductive health, sexual health, family planning, and pre/post-natal care services. In addition, IHELP learned the Red Cross in Metapán acts as the ambulance service, ultimately placing Red Cross volunteers in a position to deliver babies. This training provided the Metapán Red Cross volunteers with the skills necessary to handle an emergency deliver, provide appropriate first aid, and take vital signs.

Training Topics

  • Vital Signs
  • Choking / CPR
  • Heart Attack
  • Stroke
  • Seizure
  • Prenatal Care
  • Labor & Delivery
  • Postnatal & Neonatal Care

Hello, I would like to first thank each and every one of the donors of the organization. We are an institution that relies on trainings to help others and are so thankful for the opportunity to learn.

On a more personal note, thank you for the opportunity your organization has brought. I will be able to help my family and others that are in need from what I have learned.

Bless you all!
