Excitement in India

Excitement in India

January 31, 2018

“We don’t know much about health, how to care – regarding health things – for our families and our community…we learned this, you taught us many things. You help(ed) us so much regarding health issues!”

This was just one of our newly certified Community Health Worker’s words about how International HELP’s training program has impacted her this past week. What a privilege it has been to work with this group of people in the Dalit community in southeast India.

We are nearing the end of our trip to India and are so excited about the energy and enthusiasm of these beloved people to learn about how they can each have such a large impact on their own families and communities. I can’t wait to share more about how their lives have been impacted and will continue to be from this Community Health Worker project.

A few stats on our India Project:

- Trained 13 Community Health Workers

These new Community Health Workers learned:

- Disease Prevention
- Basic at Home Wound Care
- First Aid
- Health Warning Signs

These new community health workers are so grateful for the new knowledge they now possess, which wouldn’t be possible without your help! They are so grateful for your support: “For the people who support us for this training program, I thank them from the bottom of my heart. (For) the people who give us this opportunity, thanks!”

Check back for the full story about our India project soon.

Until then, learn how you can get involved in educating, empowering, and equipping community health workers!
