Country Profiles: An Advancement in International HELP’s Research

June 16, 2021

As the World continues to be unpredictable, International HELP has stepped up to the challenge and has taken the drastic change to the globe to be a progressing moment for our organization and our communities. While our travels to complete hands-on work in our communities has been postponed, we have taken this opportunity to revise our assessment process, specifically our research phase. The goal of our research is to understand the community, the problems, and the potential. Qualitative and quantitative data is essential to gather accurately and relevantly to understand a country best.  We have captured these goals by creating a Country Profile Template, which is to be used for all countries International HELP is and will be working in.

Qualitative and quantitive data is essential to gather accurately and relevantly to understand a country best. We have captured these goals by creating a Country Profile Template, which is to be used for all countries International Help is and will be working in.

The Country Profile Template is intended to produce a cohesive summary of the research our team members are doing for their assigned country. With the completion of the template, there is preliminary knowledge needed to advance a country further in the assessment process. This template streamlines the process, as well as provides an area to organize and share information more easily between members of our team. The statistics in each profile reflects the status of the country in recent times accurately, with our research process taking the drastic changes COVID-19 has brought to countries, their communities, and their healthcare systems into consideration. Currently, Country Profile Templates are being used to research El Salvador, India, Nigeria, the Philippines, and the United States.

Our mission to educate, empower, and equip cannot begin until we first educate ourselves and our community health workers on the health issues in their community, and we are now able to do that even better by refining our research process. By re-evaluating this process, we are able to determine what community health workers are dealing with and what resources their communities are desperate for. Amidst the pandemic, we, as an organization have proven to be the utmost functional and effective. Post-pandemic, we are ready to reinvigorate our hands-on, community-oriented global effort by making use of our new Country Profiles.
